Privacy Policy — NotifiCaption
Last updated: August 8, 2026
NotifiCaption ("the app") is made by Orange Projects, Inc. This page explains what the app can see on your phone, why, and — most importantly — what happens to it. Short version: everything happens on your phone. Nothing is uploaded, sold, or shared.
What NotifiCaption does with your data
NotifiCaption uses an Android feature called
NotificationListenerService to see notifications as they
come in, so it can spot incoming calls and apply your Do Not Disturb
rules. The list of notifications shown in the app's Home tab is kept
in memory only and disappears when you close the app —
it's never saved to your phone's storage. The only things NotifiCaption
does save on your phone are:
- Your app settings (which allow rule is turned on, whether filtering is on)
- Your custom allow list (names or numbers you've added yourself)
None of this — notification content, contacts, settings, anything — ever leaves your phone. NotifiCaption doesn't have a server to send it to, and it doesn't contain any analytics or advertising tools.
Permissions and why they're needed
| Permission / access | Why NotifiCaption needs it |
|---|---|
| Notification access | The main one. Lets the app see incoming notifications and cancel (silence) call notifications from people you haven't allowed. |
| Post notifications | So NotifiCaption can show its own ringing alert for allowed callers. |
| Contacts (read-only) | Only used if you turn on a "starred contacts" or "all contacts" rule, to check whether a caller is in your contacts. Never uploaded anywhere. |
| Do Not Disturb access | Lets the app check whether Do Not Disturb is currently on, and (if you want) copy your phone's "calls from" setting. |
| Full-screen intent | Shows the incoming-call screen over your lock screen for allowed callers. |
| Vibrate | Used for the ringing alert. |
| Ignore battery optimizations (prompt only) | An optional prompt so Android doesn't shut the app down in the background, which would stop the filtering from working. |
Third parties
NotifiCaption doesn't share your data with anyone. There's no advertising or analytics built in. Google Play handles your payment for the app — NotifiCaption itself never sees your payment details.
Children's privacy
NotifiCaption isn't aimed at children and doesn't knowingly collect data from anyone, of any age — as explained above, nothing leaves your phone in the first place.
